I Am Empowered Scholarship & Awards Ceremony Brunch

Established in 2015, originally part of the Evening of Elegance & Jazz held in June is an event that takes an opportunity to honor outstanding YP leaders within the organization and supporters/partners that have contributed to YPN-ULEM and our global community. A presentation is also made to our selected “I Am Empowered Scholarship” honorees. This event is one of YPN-ULEM’s fundraising events and is held in March.

Evening of Elegance & Jazz End-of-Year Celebration

Originally the “Evening of Elegance & Jazz and Awards” established in 2001, was an event to honor its extraordinary YPN-ULEM members, supporters and community leaders who are making a difference in Eastern Massachusetts area and then later re-established in 2011. Awards were given in the following categories annually: President’s Award, Member of the Year, Committee of the Year, Executive Leadership Award, and Member Leader Award. In 2014, it was decided to separate the Scholarship & Awards section as its own event [see]. This end-of-year celebration is held in June.

Leadership Development Conference

In 2011, YPN-ULEM established an Annual Leadership Development Conference (LDC) to provide opportunities for young professionals enhance their personal and professional development skills in order to advance in leadership and their career paths. The conference is designed to address issues related to educational, personal and professional development. Additionally, this conference serves as a program for the National Urban League Young Professionals Day of Empowerment, a nationwide service activity held in conjunction with the National Urban League Guild. This event is one of YPN-ULEM’s fundraising events and is held in November.
