It's election season for YPN-ULEM and we want YOU! 

YPN-ULEM is in search of its next leadership team for the 2016-2018 term. Are you a YPN-ULEM member interested in serving, leading and developing your community? 2016 Elections Timetable

Thursday, February 18^th : General Body Meeting: Announce and distribute the Elections Guide, which shall include processes and deadlines, as well as call for election committee volunteers (3-5 members).

Monday, February 22^nd : Nominations Period Begins            

Tuesday, March 1^st : Deadline for requests to campaign by word-of-mouth, printed material, or by use of media at March General Body meeting by 11:59 PM. ^*

Thursday, March 10^th : General Body Meeting: Announce nominations received to date.

Wednesday, March 16^th : Deadline for all Nominations by 11:59 PM.

Thursday, March 24^th : Deadline for confirmation of approved candidates; Deadline for submission of Candidate Declaration of Intent (acceptance of nomination) by 11:59 PM.

Thursday, March 24^th : Deadline for requests to campaign by word-of-mouth, printed material, or by use of media at the April General Body Meeting by 11:59 PM. ^*  

Thursday, April 14^th : General Body Meeting: Candidate Declaration of Intent to Stand for Election before General Body (campaign speech presentation) ; Announce date and time of Elections Meeting:  Thursday, May 12, 2016

Wednesday, April 28^th : Final Deadline for all media campaign requests by 11:59 PM.

Tuesday, May 10^th : Deadline for Absentee Ballot Requests (5:00 PM)

Wednesday, May 11^th : Media Campaigning Period ends at 5:00 PM ; Deadline for submission of Absentee Ballots (5:00 PM)

Thursday, May 12^th : General Body Meeting: Election Meeting

Monday, May 16^th : Deadline for Certification of Elections by Elections Committee and Announcement to General Body of Officers-Elect (via e-mail, 8:00pm)

Thursday, June 9^th : General Body Meeting: Officers-Elect address the General Body regarding plans for YPN 2016-2018 program year

^ To ensure that all campaign material is consistent with the professional nature of the organization, candidates must request to campaign at each General Body Meeting within the elections period.  The Elections Committee must receive copies of ALL materials used in each candidate’s campaign.  Each item must be approved prior to distribution.  Once an item has been approved, it does not have to be submitted for re-approval unless it is updated.  New campaign materials must be submitted for approval by the deadlines provided in the elections timeline.

* Media is defined as the use of webpages, social media, and e-mail for campaigning purposes.  For all e-mail campaigning, the size of files attached to e-mails sent to the general body may not exceed 1MB.
