In 1917, the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (ULEM) was established, and for over 90 years, ULEM has successfully provided education, employment skills training, job placement, and advocacy to the Greater Boston Metropolitan area. The mission of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts is to deliver services and programs that aim to increase the economic self-reliance of people of color and to advocate for the core initiative and civil rights issues that critically affect their lives.
